The weather has finally gotten nice and warm in the city, and I’ve been searching for the most perfect spring meal to properly wake me up from my winter hibernation mode. So when Le District’s Beaubourg invited me to try their spring/summer menu, I hopped straight to the river front right by the World Trade Center, totally excited for some much needed spring feasting.Steak tartare, heirloom tomato salad, Lobster BLT, oysters and shrimp cocktails…they graced my table beautifully, and each bite reminded me of the perfect spring day: light, airy, delicious and totally unforgettable. It’s both classic French and new New York. I savored every bite accompanied by the gentle breeze and a wonderful side of the Hudson view, all washed down with their famous frosé.We spent the rest of the day taking a lovely walk in the Brooklyn Botanical Garden, where the cherry blossom was in full swing. The flowers on the trees were beautiful, but it’s always the falling petals swirling in the wind, falling on your hair, and painting the grass the pretties hue of pink that gets me every single time.
