Cozy Days in Akureyri, Iceland

After a very adventurous drive on the snowy Ring Road, we finally made it to the city of Akureyri in northern Iceland. My beau and I both thought that it’ll be a good idea to spend some time doing nothing, and just relax and recover from the long drive. We retreated into some of the cutest cafes and restaurants to savor the freshest local food while watching the beautiful, never-ending snowflakes fall to the ground. There was almost never any wind, so the snow just slowly descended from the sky. And when you look up, it seems as if time has slowed down and the snow was falling in slow motion.iceland akureyri 12iceland akureyri 20iceland akureyri 3iceland akureyri 4iceland akureyri 2iceland akureyri 17iceland akureyri 24iceland akureyri 22iceland akureyri 21iceland akureyri 23Everywhere in Akureyri was filled with fresh, thick, powdery snow. We would stroll along the streets and then start a little random snow fight. And when we got exhausted from all the laughing and playing in the snow we would just pop in some cute cafe in the corner and sip some the best hot chocolate I’ve ever tasted. If you ever visit Iceland, you’d have to try the sweet and rich hot chocolate, along with all the local cured fish.iceland akureyri 18iceland akureyri 25iceland akureyri 11iceland akureyri 15iceland akureyri 7iceland akureyri 26iceland akureyri 5iceland akureyri 6iceland akureyri 29iceland akureyri 8iceland akureyri 10iceland akureyri 14iceland akureyri 27iceland akureyri 28
